Our English Courses
TELC offers a variety of English courses designed for different audiences including students, adults, and business groups.
Our courses are fully personalised, whether you want to prepare for an English examination or simply enjoy a cultural experience while improving your communication skills.
The language Centre is located in the heart of Portsmouth, easily accessible by bus and train. Our interactive English lessons take place in comfortable, modern classrooms and are complemented by engaging outdoor activities.
You will study in small groups with qualified, native-level English teachers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. At the start of the course, your teacher will assess your level of English and tailor the lessons to help you make steady progress. Throughout the course, you will develop your speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. At the end, you will complete a short final assessment to measure your improvement.
Your classmates will be international students with a similar level of English to yours, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment. Lessons are generally held in the mornings, Monday to Friday, leaving afternoons free for guided tours, social activities, excursions, and visits to Portsmouth’s many local attractions.
TRINITY QUALIFICATIONS
We are Trinity College London Registered Exam Centre and we can prepare you to take Trinity College exams. Trinity's English language exams focus on communicative and integrated language skills and a Trinity qualification can lead to a place at university, a new job or even a new life in another country.
Below are the qualifications you can obtain with us:
GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) exam, for people of all ages who want to develop communicative English language speaking and listening skills for use in real life - whatever the purpose, whether for immigration, work, study, leisure or employment.
ISE (Integrated Skills in English) exam, is a contemporary four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) qualification recognised by governments and institutions as providing reliable evidence of English language proficiency.
Preparing for ISE helps develops authentic communicative and transferable skills that are required for academic study and employability, such as synthesising information, participating in interactive discussions and presenting on topics of personal interest.
ESOL Skills for Life - UK
Trinity's ESOL Skills for Life qualifications are designed to aid progression and access into mainstream education and employment paths where English language skills are a requirement.
These qualifications are for adults aged 16 and over living in the UK who need English language skills for everyday life, for study and for employment.
