Our English Courses
TELC organises different courses for different types of audience, whether for students, adults, and business groups.
Our courses are personalised whether you want to study English to take an examination or you just want to take a cultural experience and improve your communication levels.
The study Centre is in the heart of Portsmouth, easily accessible by bus and train. Our interactive English lessons will run both in comfortable and modern classrooms combined with outdoor and engaging activities.
You will be taught, in small class group, by a native-level English qualified teacher in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The course teacher will assess your level of English in the first lesson and work from there to improve your skills. During the course you will also develop your speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. At the end of the course, you will take a short final assessment to know the improvement achieved.
Your classes will include people who have a similar level of English to you, from different countries. The lessons are generally held in the morning; Monday through Friday, leaving the afternoon for guided tours of museums and local attractions in the city of Portsmouth.
TRINITY QUALIFICATIONS
We are Trinity College London Registered Exam Centre and we can prepare you to take Trinity College exams. Trinity's English language exams focus on communicative and integrated language skills and a Trinity qualification can lead to a place at university, a new job or even a new life in another country.

GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) exam, for people of all ages who want to develop communicative English language speaking and listening skills for use in real life - whatever the purpose, whether for immigration, work, study, leisure or employment.
ISE (Integrated Skills in English) exam, is a contemporary four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) qualification recognised by governments and institutions as providing reliable evidence of English language proficiency.
Preparing for ISE helps develops authentic communicative and transferable skills that are required for academic study and employability, such as synthesising information, participating in interactive discussions and presenting on topics of personal interest.
ESOL Skills for Life - UK
Trinity's ESOL Skills for Life qualifications are designed to aid progression and access into mainstream education and employment paths where English language skills are a requirement.
These qualifications are for adults aged 16 and over living in the UK who need English language skills for everyday life, for study and for employment.
